Christian Vital, the class of 2016 guard that Louisville was hoping would take its final scholarship for the 2016-17 season, has picked UConn over the Cards.
New England you stuck with through my hardships and struggles I'm glad I have the chance to repay you back! #Huskies

Vital, a three-star guard, originally committed to UNLV, but re-opened his recruitment after the Rebels fired head coach Dave Rice. The St. Thomas More product took an official visit to U of L last weekend.
The question for Louisville now turns back to what, if anything, Rick Pitino and question decide to do with their last open scholarship for next season. Pitino has previously said that the staff is targeting the "best player available," which could be another graduate transfer to join Pennsylvania's Tony Hicks.
The other option, and I think it's probably the more likely one, is that the Cards opt to eat this scholarship. Remember that there's already a reduction coming in both 2017-18 and 2018-19. We'll see. Until then, congrats to Kevin Ollie on finally beating Louisville.
