Former Louisville basketball player and 2011 Hottest Male Athlete in the World Elisha Justice has been named the new boys basketball coach at Pikeville High School. Justice was introduced at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.
Coming to Louisville as a preferred walk-on, Justice backed up Peyton Siva at point guard as a true freshman in 2010-11, averaging 2.4 points per game while dishing out 33 assists to 14 turnovers. "The Bullet" was put on scholarship in 2011-12, but saw his playing time diminish thanks in large part to the emergence of fellow sophomore Russ Smith. Justice then transferred to the University of Pikeville for his final two seasons of college ball.
It shouldn't surprise anyone that Justice had no difficulty landing a full-time gig in Pikeville, where he remains one of the city's most decorated all-time athletes. He averaged 20.1 points per game for Shelby Valley as a senior in 2010, leading the Wildcats to the Kentucky state championship and earning Mr. Basketball honors along the way. He then accepted Rick Pitino's offer to join his team at U of L, despite later being courted by Kentucky's John Calipari.
Best of luck to Elisha as he starts his coaching career.
