Louisville helped solidify future depth at tight end today with the announcement that former Texas A&M tight end Jordan Davis will be transferring to Louisville. Davis originally signed with Texas A&M as part of the class go 2015 where he was a highly sought after, blue-chip recruit. According to his 247Sports recruiting profile, Davis was the #229 overall prospect in the country for the class of 2015. He was rated the #10 tight end prospect and the #33 player in the talent rich state of Texas. He signed with Texas A&M over offers from Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame and a host of other major programs.

He appeared in three games in the 2015 season for the Aggies. He recorded 2 receptions for 7 yards in those games. Davis will have to sit out the 2016 season but will then have three years of eligibility left to play. His arrival will help bolster the tight end position that stands to lose Cole Hikutini, who emerged has a big weapon in the passing game last year, and Keith Towbridge after the upcoming 2016 season.
