From U of L:
The Ladybirds Dance Team won the Division IA hip-hop today after being named national champions in the overall Division IA team performance division today at the NCA/NDA National Championships in Daytona Beach. The double title for the Ladybirds is the first in school history.
The Ladybirds edged Brigham Young when they put up a 9.749 just ahead of the Cougars' 9.691.
In all, the University of Louisville spirit program brought home five national championship titles this weekend which is the most ever for any school in the history of the championship for any single year. Also at the competition this weekend, the Cardinal cheerleading squads won the large coed division, the all-girl division, and added another crown by winning the group stunt division.
"As a coaching staff we are so excited for the kids that we push so hard," said Todd Sharp, UofL Spirit Group Coordinator. "And of course we are super proud to bring these championships and positive recognition home to the University of Louisville. We are humbled by the incredible success this week and feel so blessed to have this opportunity."
