Louisville women earn No. 3 seed, will play first 2 NCAA Tournament games at home

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

The Louisville women's basketball team was rewarded for yet another fine basketball seen with a No. 3 seed in the Dallas Region of the NCAA Tournament. The Cards will also have the luxury of playing their first two games in the big dance at the KFC Yum Center.

Perhaps more important than all of that ... U of L isn't in the same region as Connecticut.

Jeff Walz's team will open play in the tournament on Friday at 2:30 p.m. against No. 14 seed Central Arkansas. The winner of that game will face either No. 11 seed James Madison or No. 6 seed ....................... DePaul (please God, no) .......... on Sunday.

I've joked about it before, but if the Cards see their tournament run end at the hands of the Blue Demons, I really will start believing that this month is the punishment for everything bad that I've ever done.

The Central Arkansas Sugar Bears (dead serious) are 28-3 and haven't lost a game since Feb. 10. For those interested in purchasing tickets to the tournament games at the Yum Center, you can do so here.

Here's your full bracket.
