Academics cost Louisville the chance to sign Jaquelle Green today. They made up for it by getting a letter of intent from junior college safety London Iakopo. Iakopo (6'2, 210) was rated the #2 junior college safety in the nation by 247Sports. Their rating system had him rated a composite three-star prospect while Scout.com rated him a four-star safety.

Iakopo picked Louisville over Arizona on signing day. He had been committed to Arizona for several months before decommitting in January. He took an official to Louisville shortly thereafter and waited until signing day to make his commitment to Louisville official. His recruiting profile lists him as having offers from Arizona, Missouri, West Virginia, and Iowa State among others.
Iakopo is a big boost to an already solid group of versatile defensive backs. Former Ole Miss four-star signee Ronald Walker is already enrolled and will go through spring ball. Today Louisville also signed Lamarques Thomas and PJ Blue (who could very well grow into a fast, James Burgess style linebacker).
