Louisville Football Recruiting: Four-star Receiver Desmond Fitzpatrick Commits

Louisville received a big boost right before signing day when composite four-star receiver Desmond Fitzpatrick committed to the Cardinals over Nebraska.

Looking to finish the 2016 class strongly, Louisville got an enormous boost from a familiar name Monday afternoon. Desmond Fitzpatrick, who had been committed to Louisville for most of the 2016 recruiting season, recommitted to the Cardinals by posting the extremely well done video below produced by Bleacher Report.

Fitzpatrick (6'2, 190) is a composite four-star receiver according to the 247Sports rating system. He joins Chris Taylor-Yamanoha, Keion Wakefield, and Seth Dawkins as 2016 class receiver commitments to go with Army All-American quarterback Jawon Pass.

Fitzpatrick decommitted from the Cardinals and was considered a near mortal lock to be heading to Nebraska before the Louisville coaches convinced him to take an official visit to Louisville the weekend before signing day. After what was reported to be an enlightening white board session with Fitzpatrick and his father and the Louisville offensive staff, Fitzpatrick committed to the Cardinals shortly after returning home.

With a handful of targets still undecided, Louisville is on the cusp of landing another top 25-35 class that should help keep them in contention in the ACC for the near future.
