Louisville center Anas Mahmoud will miss a second straight game Wednesday as he continues to recover from a concussion, Rick Pitino confirmed Monday evening.
Mahmoud suffered the injury when he was elbowed in the head by Purdue big man Isaac Haas in the second half of U of L's win over the Boilermakers. Mahmoud later returned to that game, but was diagnosed with a concussion afterward and did not travel with the team to Phoenix for Saturday's game against Grand Canyon.
Louisville hosts Southern Illinois Wednesday night at 7 at the KFC Yum Center. The Salukis are 5-3 and have five different players who average double figures in scoring.
Mahmoud is averaging 5.4 ppg and 3.4 rpg for the Cardinals this season.
