If you are a longtime (or even short-time) reader of this site, then you probably know how I feel about Bracketology. It's fun, but the notion that it's at all indicative of what the selection committee is thinking or will be thinking is inaccurate, which in the end renders the whole exercise meaningless. That doesn't mean we can't talk about it, it just means that statements like "I love this draw" or "I can't believe they've got us in the same region as Kentucky" don't really need to be made, because the brackets we're reacting to likely aren't reflective of what we're going to see on Selection Sunday.
Having said all that, let's take a quick look at the release of the first two major mock brackets of the preseason, both of which have the Cardinals as a No. 3 seed.
USA Today: No. 3 seed in the West Region playing No. 14 seed Vermont
ESPN: No. 3 seed in the West Region playing No. 14 seed Chattanooga
If you need me for the next 24 hours I'll be studying film of both the Mocs and the Catamounts.
