On the heels of its 41-38 upset loss at the hands of Kentucky, Louisville fell from No. 11 to No. 13 in the last College Football Playoff rankings. That puts the Cardinals one spot behind No. 12 Florida State, and for the time being, one spot out of the Orange Bowl.
So is that the end? Not everyone thinks so.
So FSU moves past Louisville, but the door remains open for committee to downgrade the UF win if Gators get housed by Bama. This ain’t over.

It feels a bit strange to me that FSU stays a spot ahead of Louisville without a second top 25 win (South Florida didn't enter the rankings). The two teams have nearly identical resumes, and the Cardinals have a 43-point head-to-head win. Regardless, it's hard to get outraged about this when one win in Louisville's last two games would have removed all the drama from the situation.
