Louisville favored by 2 touchdowns over Houston

Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

After much waiting and speculating over the status of Houston quarterback Greg Ward Jr., Vegas finally delivered an opening spread for Louisville's Thursday night tilt against the Cougars.

The Cards opened as a mere 10-point favorite, a spread which was quickly bet up to U of L -14.

Louisville has been favored to win all 10 of its games this season, but has failed to cover in four of its last six contests, including its only loss of the season at Clemson. The Cardinals have been a 30 point or more favorite in three of their last five games, and failed to cover the spread on all three of those occasions.

Houston enters Thursday night's game with an 8-2 record and one last chance to leave a major mark on the 2016 college football season. The players seem very aware of what's at stake.

I don't care what the spread is, I'm already terrified.
