While most of the attention for the University of Louisville Cardinals is focused on their continued path to the College Football Playoffs with a night game against Wake Forest, the basketball program received some good news the morning after its victory over the Evansville Purple Aces.
Anfernee Simons, a combo guard out of Orlando, FL, decided to commit to Rick Pitino and his Louisville Cardinals basketball team while on his unofficial visit to campus.

Anfernee is the first commit of the 2018 class. According to the 247 Composite Rankings, Simons is a 4-star guard and the #54 overall prospect in the nation. He holds offers from Florida, LSU, Memphis, and Tennessee, as well as others. Simons is currently listed as standing at 6’3” and weighing in at 165 pounds. With the commitment of Simons, the Cards class currently sits at #9 in the team rankings, though that will surely change as the recruitment process develops.
Welcome to the Cards, Anfernee!
