To no one's surprise, Bobby Petrino says that Reggie Bonnafon is the early favorite to be Louisville's starting quarterback when the Cards take the field against Auburn on Sept. 5.
Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports says that among Power 5 teams, Louisville has the sixth-toughest non-conference schedule in college football.
6. Louisville Cardinals (3.06)
Bobby Petrino's team will see some dynamic QBs. Louisville opens against Auburn, which has good receivers and a budding star in QB Jeremy Johnson. The Cards follow that with Houston, which should make a run at a 10-win season and has a speedy trigger man in Greg Ward Jr. Following a Clemson game, U of L gets FCS Samford, led by 6-5 ASU transfer QBMichael Eubank. The regular-season finale is against what should be a very much improved Kentucky team and its talented QB (Patrick Towles).
Stanford checks in at No. 1.
Jeff Greer has the full transcript of his lengthy chat with Rick Pitino in Toronto.
When former U of L wide receiver Tiger Jones scores a touchdown, Tiger Jones will drop the People's Elbow.
Awesome.
Despite being a finalist for Dennis Smith, it looks like Louisville is making De'Aron Fox their top point guard target in the 2016 class.
Safe to say that five-star prospect Mack Wilson, the consensus No. 1 linebacker in the country, enjoyed his visit to U of L over the weekend.

Wilson will reportedly be visiting Florida this weekend.
Brian Brohm will be making his second career CFL start on Thursday when he lines up behind center for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Among many other things, Bobby Petrino talked Monday about the criticism from some over U of L taking former Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Devonte Fields.
"We've established that he's going to have to do everything right when he's on campus with us," Petrino said during an appearance Monday at ESPN. "We have some standards that are set for him, and he's going to have to abide by those standards."
Fields, from Fort Worth, Texas, was charged in July 2014 in a domestic incident with his ex-girlfriend, who accused him of pointing a gun at her and punching her in the face. Fields was dismissed from TCU after he was charged with misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury. The case was dismissed last month after Fields completed an anger management course.
"We're privy to all the information," Petrino said. "We understand all the information that was out there. Knowing that, we believe we did the right thing in giving him a second chance."
Former Memphis hoops standout Austin Nichols is headed to Virginia, where Louisville fans will start seeing him again during the 2016-17 season.
If you're headed down to Atlanta on the Friday before the big game, then 93.9 The Ville will be sponsoring a roof top party that night for Cards fans.

There was a similar party in the same spot on the day before the national championship game in 2013, and it was fantastic.
Congrats to Russ Smith, who now has a guaranteed contract with the Memphis Grizzlies for the 2015-16 season. The contract will pay him just South of $850,000.
Probably the best cartoon ever created.

We had breakfast at Eggs over Frankfort yesterday morning and it was quite fantastic ... and I'm usually not overly enthusiastic about breakfast/brunch spots. They're not giving me anything to say that, I just always appreciate when people pass along local places they've liked to me and so I'm trying to do the same thing here.
I'm lying, they actually gave me extra grits if I made a Cleveland joke at Chris Gehring's expense. The Browns aren't good at football and will never be good at football, Chris.
Fresh U of L commit Keion Wakefield is already doing what he can on the recruiting trail.
Both of yall just come on and join the party. @CoachTGrantham is a genius on defense. https://t.co/8IkMZCaLml

Former U of L golfer Adam Hadwin finished tied for 7th in the PGA Tour's RBC Canadian Open over the weekend. The performance was especially sweet for Hadwin, considering that he is a native of Canada.
The ACC Digital Network's Roddy Jones has Brandon Radcliff among his top four running backs in the conference.
Ole Miss' Stefan Moody, the leading returning scorer in the SEC, was arrested for DUI over the weekend.
Or maybe he just really wants to see Louisville basketball in Puerto Rico.

Former Florida State ball boy "Red Lightning" is headed to the Atlanta Falcons.
Wichita State standout Ron Baker and his glorious hair lit it up for Team USA at the Pan Am Games.
The Louisville Magic AAU squad, led by Taylor County star and U of L recruit David Sloan, fell in the championship round of the AAU Nationals over the weekend.
A very happy birthday to my mother, Mama CC, who is still the most upbeat, amicable and well-liked person I've ever known. She is super cool.
And finally, Ramsey & Rutherford is back today from 3-6 on 93.9 The Ville talking all things Louisville sports. Listen as I quote rap lyrics and make '90s TV show references that John and Spencer don't understand.
