Louisville football recruiting: Keion Wakefield commits to the Cardinals

Male standout receiver became Louisville's latest commitment, picking Louisville over Purdue and Kentucky.

Louisville's recent recruiting hot streak continued today when Male receiver Keion Wakefield committed to the Cardinals Thursday afternoon.You can watch a short video of Wakefield giving the ol' hat fake in picking Louisville over Purdue and Kentucky.

Wakefield gives Louisville another speedy receiver target to go along with last year's signees and fellow commitment Desmond Fitzpatrick (who increasingly looks like he could be every bit as good as recent star Louisville receivers). 247Sports lists him as a composite three-star prospect and the sixth ranked player in Kentucky. He also listed offers from Indiana, Illinois, and Cincinnati.

Louisville stands to move somewhere in the top 25 in 247's team rankings once Wakefield is counted as a commitment. The Cardinals were already at #26 without him. You can watch a highlight video of Wakefield from his junior season below. He is Louisville's 16th commitment for the class of 2016.
