Louisville's recruiting momentum that began with the commitment of Jawon Pass over several SEC suitors continued Monday night as Georgia defensive end Michael Boykin committed to the Cardinals. Boykin is Louisville's 15th commitment for the class of 2016 (with Tylin Oden still listed in most places as a soft verbal commitment, understandably).

247Sports lists Boykin (6'6, 255) as a composite three-star prospect at defensive end. He chose Louisville over Auburn after being considered a long time Auburn lean (even once telling the Atlanta Journal-Constitution he was 99.9% sure he was going to Auburn). He also listed offers from Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri, and Wisconsin among many others. Boykin recently participated in camps around the south including Kentucky's shortly before attending Louisville's first "Friday Night Lights" style camp.
Boykin gives Louisville another recruiting victory over SEC elites. Pass chose Louisville over Auburn and Alabama. Linebacker TJ Brunson picked Louisville over in-state power South Carolina. He's also Louisville's fifth commitment from the Georgia, which is rapidly becoming one of the most fertile and competitive recruiting grounds in the south.
