*Happy Father's Day to all the CC dads out there. Being a dad is pretty awesome so I hope you all get to enjoy your day in whatever way you may choose to do so. I might recommend reading this post as one of the things you do today since, you know, you're already here and all*

#76 Kelby Johnson

Class: Senior

Ht/Wt: 6-7/297

Position: Offensive Line

Hometown: Bowie, MD

Twitter: N/A

Thoughts: Kelby made his way to Louisville last season after starting his career at Virginia and then a brief stint at ASA college in New York. Johnson played in eight games last season appearing on special teams and in a supporting role at the right tackle position. If Epps ends up moving over to left tackle, I think Kelby makes a run at the starting gig on the right side, although not being able to beat out Mack last season is somewhat concerning. The coaches brought in Johnson for a reason last year, knowing O-line depth was a big concern moving forward and I think they believed then and still believe now he can make an impact up front. He got the start in the spring game at right tackle and played ok from what I can tell. As I mentioned Friday it’s somewhat of a free for all up there and the spring practices showed Coach K is still trying to figure out who his five will be when we kick off on September 5th.

“How’s that O-line shaping up Coach K?”

“yeaaah….kinda what I expected.”

Sweet Tweet: No twitter for Johnson, that I could locate, and I put a decent amount of time in searching for it. @BigBoyKJ, @KelbyJDaKing, @JohnsonInYoFace, etc...no success. It reminded me of when we moved a couple years ago and I was walking around my new house searching and searching for a signal on my cellphone. If you traced my steps it’d probably resemble that of a dog trying to hold his bladder before getting outside or a solid scribble drawing from my two year old. My wife was laughing, I was freaking out. I mean, is there a worse feeling than finding out that a new house, new desk at work, etc has no cell coverage. I tried to make it work but missing calls, getting texts two days after they were sent..it was nonsense. A week later, after multiple calls, emails and store visits to Sprint I finally had to switch carriers.

Ain’t nobody got time for that, not even @JohnsonInYoFace.
