Tyus Battle re-opens his recruitment

Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

Five-star class of 2016 guard Tyus Battle, who made a somewhat surprising commitment to Michigan back on May 11, has re-opened his recruitment.

Battle had been one of Louisville's top targets in the 2016 class, and had visited U of L on multiple occasions, most recently during the famous Lazer Blaze trip with Damion Lee. According to Scout.com's Evan Daniels, Battle will visit Syracuse this weekend.

Despite playing part of his sophomore season with a broken wrist, Battle averaged 22.5 points per game for Gill St. Bernard's in New Jersey, and was a member of the 2014 USA U17 world championship team that won a FIBA gold medal. He played just nine games during his junior season because of a foot injury, and averaged 16.9 points per game.

Battle is ranked as the No. 14 player in the class of 2016 by Rivals.com.
