Chinanu Onuaku makes first cut for Team USA

Training camp for the United States U19 National Team opened Saturday in Colorado Springs, and on Monday, head coach Sean Miller trimmed his roster from 21 to 16 players. Louisville sophomore Chinanu Onuaku was one of the players who made the cut.

T.J. Leaf, Silas Melson, Eric Paschall, Malik Pope and Seventh Woods were cut from the team, which leaves for Athens on June 21, and will then compete in the World Championships from June 27-July 5 in Crete, Greece.

A final roster cut from 16 to 12 players is expected to take place Wednesday.
