The Miami Dolphins have agreed to a 4-year deal with DeVante Parker that will pay the former Cardinal wide receiver $10.9 million. Included in that contract is a $6.2 million signing bonus.
Despite missing the first half of his senior season with a foot injury, Parker still finished 2014 with 43 catches for 855 yards and five touchdowns, all team highs. For his career, Parker had 156 receptions, 2,775 yards, and 33 scores.
In Miami, DeVante has an opportunity to be Ryan Tannehill's top target as a rookie. The Dolphins current receiving corps includes veterans Kenny Stills, Greg Jennings, Jarvis Landry and Rishard Matthews, although it was recently reported that Matthews is seeking to be traded.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again right now: DeVante Parker is the best wide receiver I've ever seen play football for the University of Louisville. I'm happy to see his hard work rewarded, and I'm excited to see him star at the highest level.
