Louisville received its ninth commitment for the football class of 2016 today when Columbus, OH athlete Seth Dawkins committed to the Cardinals and Bobby Petrino Monday afternoon. Dawkins is a composite three-star prospect according to 247Sports. Their individual rating lists him as the #28 prospect in Ohio and the composite rating lists him as the #30 player in that state (Rivals has him the #23 player in Ohio). Dawkins listed offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, and Tennessee.
In his highlight video linked below, Dawkins plays both sides of the ball but his future is probably on offense. At 6'3, 195 pounds, Dawkins has the frame to be a solid receiver and the video shows he's got good speed (Rivals lists him with a 4.5 40-yard dash time) and can make people miss as a ball-carrier (he even plays some running quarterback). He continues Bobby Petrino's trend since coming back to Louisville of pursuing tall receivers. So far all but one of Petrino's receiver signees or commitments (Traveon Samuel) have been over six feet tall. Louisville's other receiver commitment for 2016, Desmond Fitzpatrick, is listed at 6'2.5.
