After not signing a single player from the state of Kentucky in the class of 2015, Louisville picked up its second commitment from not only a Kentucky player, but a second commitment from a Louisville prospect. After defensive back Rodjay Burns committed to Louisville on Saturday, DuPont Manual defensive lineman Derek Dorsey committed to the Cardinals Tuesday evening.

Dorsey (6'3, 265) is a three-star prospect according to 247Sports and the #9 player in Kentucky for the 2016 class. He recently attended Louisville's Junior Day. Dorsey projects very similarly to class of 2015 defensive line signee G.G. Robinson. A big, (265 lbs with ability to probably easily carry more and better weight) agile defensive end in Todd Grantham's 3-4 defense that has already shown how well it can use players like Sheldon Rankins and DeAngelo Brown up front.
With Dorsey and enormous nose tackle T.J. London now committed and added to last year's signees Robinson and Drew Bailey, the defensive front will continue to be a position of strength for the defensive moving forward. Dorsey is Louisville's seventh commitment for the class of 2016.
