Lamar Jackson, arguably the most-discussed player in Bobby Petrino's 2015 recruiting class, is officially headed to Louisville despite a late fullcourt press from Florida.
Here's video of the four-star quarterback making it official:
Jackson, who stands 6'2 and 185-pounds, is a ridiculous athlete who earned the Lou Groza Awards High School Player of the Year back in December. He finished a monster senior season with 1,358 passing yards and 18 touchdowns and also had just over 1,000 yards rushing, with 17 touchdowns.
"I think he's like Nick Marshall who was at Auburn but throws it better," 247Sports.com analyst Ryan Bartow told the Courier-Journal. "He was a one-man band this year. He would put on shows where he would get 4-6 touchdowns a game, 400 combined yards with running and throwing. He's a legit four-star guy, one of the better dual-threat guys in the class."
There were a lot of people, myself included, who never thought U of L was going to be able to keep a talent like Jackson once the blue-bloods started calling. This is a big, big deal.
