Louisville will play Texas A&M in the 2015 Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl

A year after Louisville was surprisingly passed over by the game at the eleventh hour, the Cardinals finally have their Music City Bowl bid.

U of L will make its first appearance in the game when they face the Texas A&M Aggies, who finished the regular season with an 8-4 overall record, including a 4-4 mark in SEC play. The game, which will be televised by ESPN, will be played on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. EST from inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

This will mark the sixth straight season that Louisville has played in a bowl game, and will be the Cardinals' 20th all-time bowl game appearance. U of L is 5-2 in its last seven bowl games, and 9-9-1 in bowl games all-time.

The concerns of Louisville having to play its bowl game on the same day as the Kentucky basketball game have finally been put to bed, as U of L will play on the day before New Year's Eve (New Year's Eve Eve? Do we do that?) for the second straight season. The Cards fell to Georgia in last year's Belk Bowl on the same evening.

All things considered, I'm not sure Louisville could have walked away from this process with a more favorable game location, date, time or opponent. Get your hotel rooms booked, and let's get these pre and postgame Nashville parties set up.

Be prepared to be entertained by Good Bull Hunting, and let the beat Texas A&M talk commence.
