2015 Card Chronicle Person of the Year: The Finalists

Glenn Beil-USA TODAY Sports

This may be as wide-open a vote as I can remember when it comes to this award, which is why we have a large number of finalists to choose from

The winner, remember, will join this elite group:

2007 - Tom Jurich
2008 - David Padgett
2009 - Vacant
2010 - Charlie Strong
2011 - Charlie Strong and Preston Knowles (tie)
2012 - Tom Jurich
2013 - Teddy Bridgewater
2014 - Russ Smith

Voting will end in 48 hours. Here are the finalists you chose:

DAN MCDONNELL

--Led Louisville to an ACC regular season title, an ACC record 25 conference wins, a No. 3 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, and a preseason No. 2 ranking for 2016.

KELSI WORRELL

--Was part of a 400-Medley Relay team that combined for a World Record time of 3:45.20. That same day, the Cardinal set an American record in the 100-fly, one of the two events (the 200-butterfly being the other) in which she claimed an NCAA championship in 2015.

RICK PITINO

--Led Louisville to the Elite 8 and has the Cardinals ranked in the top 20 as we head into 2016 despite a number of departures and a rough period of off-the-court news.

KATIE GEORGE

--Was named both ACC Player of the Year and Setter of the Year, and also represented the state of Kentucky in the Miss USA Pageant over the summer.

FRANKIE HUGHES

--Committed to Louisville in the midst of one of the most trying days in the history of the program, and then tried to sign with the Cards a day before national signing day.

THE FANS

--Continued to show their support throughout the year despite a handful of rough moments both on and off the court/field.
