Louisville fans who made it out to Fairdale High School on Sunday (or who watched the game on TV) got a firsthand look at what V.J. King hopes to be bringing to the U of L basketball program this time next year.
King, a 5-star forward who singed with the Cardinals last month, scored 35 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals, as his Paul VI squad ripped North Bullitt, 103-51. King said after the game that he paid careful attention to what Damion Lee was doing against Western Kentucky, because he's been told that's the role that staff wants him to assume next season. He also reasserted that he "never wavered" from his commitment, even when the bombshells started flying in early October.
