Rick Pitino releases statement on Kyle Kuric

It was announced earlier today that former Louisville basketball star Kyle Kuric will be undergoing emergency surgery to remove a brain tumor. Kuric is currently playing for the Gran Canaria franchise in Spain.

Rick Pitino has released the following statement regarding the news:

"We've had some pretty big disappointments in the past few months, but nothing compares to this. Our prayers and good wishes go out for a healthy and speedy recovery for Kyle. He's one of the finest young men that I have had the privilege to coach and our Louisville family's prayers are with him."
