John Calipari: "I'm not worried about Louisville"

Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

The topic of holiday practice was brought up to John Calipari following Kentucky's win over Boston University Tuesday night, and Coach Cal's response has caught the attention of both fan bases in the Commonwealth.

"Everybody goes crazy, 'Why wouldn't you practice over Christmas to get ready for Louisville?' Because I'm not worried about Louisville," Calipari said. "I'm worried about my family and these kids' families."

"I know how good Louisville is and I think these guys having time off, it's better for them," Calipari continued. "Maybe it'll cost us some time, but at the end of the day, that time with their families -- and to be honest with you, I get to spend time with my family -- it's important."

So it's not really "Louisville sucks, and we don't even need to practice to beat them," but it's kind of "if Louisville beats us it's because I am the ultimate family man, so don't even worry about it."
