2016 Louisville football commit Dez Fitzpatrick tweeted tonight that he has decided to reopen his recruitment. Fitzpatrick was one of the two four-star commitments Louisville had in it's class joining Jawon Pass. Fitzpatrick is the 53rd ranked wide receiver in 247's composite and that ranking could possibly rise.
Nebraska seems to be the popular choice for where Fitzpatrick will end up after he spoke very highly of the school after a recent official visit. Dez would have likely had no problem seeing the field next year even with UofL's young group of receivers but that could have played a role in his decision. I personally think it's just a case of a kid making a decision early then changing his mind once he actually sees what all is out there.
There is no doubt that this is a big loss for the 2016 class but we obviously wish Dez the best and hope he makes the right decision for himself.
