The fluctuating line of the Louisville-Kentucky game is a topic of discussion in the Commonwealth from the first part of the summer through the duration of the season itself. Now, finally, we have an actual game week spread.
The Cardinals opened Sunday as a 4-point favorite over their arch-rivals from Lexington, a line which has quickly moved to Louisville -3 in Vegas. Assuming this line holds, it will be the fourth straight season that U of L has been favored to hoist the Governor's Cup. Charlie Strong's Cards upset Kentucky 24-17 in Commonwealth Stadium back in 2011 to begin their current 4-game winning streak in the series.
For the season, Louisville is 5-1 as a betting favorite, with its lone loss coming at home against Houston in the second game of the season. The Cards' only win this season as an underdog came in Raleigh on Oct. 3 at NC State.
