This close to National Signing Day and after just one season on the job, I'm not sure the timing on this, if true, could be worse.

Grantham is the sixth highest-paid assistant in college football, and he's already had multiple stints in the NFL, so neither money nor the allure of the professional ranks figure to be a deciding factor here.
This has already been an interesting offseason for Cardinal assistant, as last month offensive coordinator Garrick McGee was targeted by Oklahoma to take the same job there. Within a day, McGee put out a statement saying that he planned on staying at Louisville.
