Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

There might not be a program at U of L that will be taking more of a step up in competition thanks to the move to the ACC than Dan McDonnell's baseball Cardinals.

The league's other head coaches believe McDonnell and company will be up to the challenge, voting the Cards second in the ACC's Atlantic Division in their annual preseason poll. Perennial powerhouse Florida State was picked to finish ahead of Louisville, while 2014 College World Series runner-up Virginia is the pick to win the Coastal Division.
