Louisville's recent success on the recruiting trail continued today as, in a bit of an upset, Amonte Caban, a linebacker out of Alabama, committed to Louisville over finalists of South Carolina and Tennessee.

Caban is rated a composite four-star linebacker by 247Sports recruiting rankings. They also rate him the top #12 inside linebacker in the country and one of the top 15 players in the state of Alabama for the class of 2015. What is particularly encouraging is that Louisville beat out a list of the big boys in recruiting in the south like South Carolina, Tennessee, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Mississippi State. Caban also had an offer from Kentucky.
Caban is now Louisville's fourth commitment from Alabama. He joins ATH Traveon Samuel, offensive lineman Troy Thingstad, and OLB Tim Bonner for the class of 2015. With Caban's commitment, Louisville is on the cusp of moving into the top 25 in recruiting rankings on both Rivals and 247Sports.
I hope the US Mint starts making edible quarters soon.
