Louisville fans eager to see the start of Michael Dyer's final collegiate season are likely going to have to wait another week.
During his post-practice media briefing, Bobby Petrino said that Dyer will likely be held out for a second straight week while he nurses a thigh contusion. Petrino added that the training staff is currently trying to get Dyer ready for the Virginia game on Sept. 13.
Dyer missed significant time last season because of injuries, and wound up carrying the ball 44 times for just 223 yards. He looked like a different player in Louisville's Spring Game, and was projected to enter the season behind only Dominique Brown on the Cardinal depth chart. He suffered the injury that has kept him sidelined during an Aug. 16 intrasquad scrimmage.
