There's been plenty of speculation in the wake of Antonio Blakeney's unexpected decommitment from Louisville as to whether or not U of L is still a player for the five-star guard. Apparently, the Cardinal coaching staff has decided to provide the answer to that question themselves.
According to a report from Steve Jones of The Courier-Journal, U of L no longer has any plans to pursue Blakeney, and will focus its attention on landing another player from the class of 2015.
Moments after word of his decommitment had begun to spread, Blakeney tweeted that he was "still really considering Louisville heavily." It was later reported that he is planning on taking visits to LSU, Oregon, Missouri and Kentucky.
This news should come as little surprise to anyone who followed the recruiting sagas of Rodney Purvis and JaQuan Lyle, two players whose decommitments from U of L effectively ended their relationships with the program. Ironically, news broke late Tuesday night that Lyle, who was set to be a freshman at Oregon, is no longer listed on the Ducks roster.
