Thoughts: Don’t sleep on Keith Brown. Brown was a freshman All-American two years ago and battled a tough knee injury last season which limited his production to only three games. While Grantham reported this week that Keith Kelsey, who replaced Brown last year, would get the start on Monday I have no doubt Brown will still see the field. While geographical challenges prevented me from attending any of the public practices I heard the same thing from almost everyone in regards to Brown. He still looks injured. I have no idea if Brown is at 90%, 80%, 70%, etc but he didn’t have the burst we saw two years ago and wasn’t sliding to the ball like 2012, when he finished the year as the fifth leading tackler. Hopefully Brown gets healthy and stays healthy, providing us with two viable options at the ‘Mike’ linebacker as the season progresses. One thing I think we’ll learn quickly as the ACC schedule unfolds is that depth will be extremely important in competing for championships year in and year out.

I got some exciting news Mr. Brown. After counting down 100 days until you and your teammates step onto that field, today is the final day you have to wait. Tomorrow, life in the ACC begins. I can’t wait.
(Check back tomorrow for a ‘0 Days’ post recapping the summer. Less than 24 hours until September 1, we can make it)
