Thoughts: In case you missed it over the course of the last couple of years, or didn’t see the stories about it this offseason…Corvin Lamb is fast. Real fast. The unofficial 40 time from earlier this summer (4.3 sec) would have been the 8th fastest in NFL combine history. While having game changing speed is a blessing, it can also place a label on you that may be unfair or unwarranted. While no one is denying the ability of Lamb in the open field, the knock on him up to this point was his ability to break tackles and his movement when confined. I looked forward to Lamb disproving that theory last year, but unfortunately an ACL tear ended his season after only one game. During the summer the coaches have praised Lamb for his ball catching out of the backfield and his ability to move in tight space. I think we see a whole new gameplan for Corvin this season and I think he becomes one of the more targeted players in the offensive scheme, especially until DeVante returns.
I know I touched on it with Dominique Brown, Michael Dyer and even L.J. Scott’s recaps, but we’ll need all these guys to play well in order to have a successful year. I think Brown and Dyer get the majority of the carries with Scott being a situational back and Lamb inserted into multiple "speed packages". While it appeared Charlie was going to give Lamb a shot at KR last year, I’m real excited to see him back there again with Gaines to start off the season. I mean, if he feels up too it, I say go ahead and just run the damn thing back for a touchdown to start off the game. Sound like a plan? With Brown and Dyer wrapping up their careers, I look forward to seeing Lamb and Radcliff excel when given the opportunity. I think Petrino’s offense is a blessing for a player like Lamb and I’m sure he’s going to make the most of it.
Sweet Tweet:
They know not to ask me who's the fastest .

The kid has speed for days. We’ve seen it on display before. Everytime I hear about Lamb wanting to race against Gaines or Quick I always envision it playing out something like this…
