For the fourth straight year, the Louisville mens' basketball team has finished with the best team GPA in its conference.

Rick Pitino's Cardinals earned a collective 3.40 GPA for the 2013-14 academic year, the highest ever for a U of L men's basketball team. The team produced a record 3.47 combined GPA for the 2013 fall semester, the best semester average ever for the program and the best among U of L's men's sports programs.

This is the fourth consecutive conference team academic honor as the Cardinals basketball team, which earned three straight similar awards as members of the Big East Conference (2010-13).

Louisville has also had success in the area of individual academic awards during the era of good feelings. Most recently, Wayne Blackshear was named the the recipient of the prestigious Elite 89 Award, presented to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at NCAA Championships.
