Georgia Defensive End Picks Louisville Over Kentucky

Andy Lyons

Despite a 100 percent projection to Kentucky on his "crystal ball," Hiram (GA) defensive end Jonathan Greenard shocked the Bluegrass State and committed to Louisville on Sunday following his visit to U of L. Greenard had taken a visit to UK the day before.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Greenard 22 tackles for loss and six sacks as a junior last season. He said his relationship with new Cardinal defensive coordinator Todd Grantham is what sealed the deal.

"Our relationship has been pretty good from the get-go," Greenard told "He came to our school back in April. He came back a second time and that's when he told me he wanted to offer me a scholarship. Once I got a feel from that, I knew they were pretty interested. From that point on, we talked just about every other day. I called him and just built our relationship."
