Dual-Threat QB Pat Thomas Signs With Louisville

David Manning-USA TODAY Sports

The quarterback race at Louisville got a little more interesting on Thursday, as U of L received a faxed letter of intent from Georgia Military College signal caller Pat Thomas, who plans to enroll on May 16.

A 6'4, 185-pound dual-threat quarterback, Thomas threw for 1,695 yards and 17 touchdowns while rushing for 199 yards and two more scores last season in junior college. He redshirted the 2012 season, which means he still has three years of eligibility remaining.

Thomas picked up a great deal of interest from Texas late in his recruitment, but pounced on his scholarship offer from U of L before Charlie Strong and company could make any more moves.
