The Louisville women will play one more game inside the KFC Yum Center this season.
The Cards got a combined 34 points from Shoni Schimmel and Tia Gibbs, and pasted seventh-seeded LSU 73-47 on Sunday to advance to the Elite 8.
U of L unloaded on the Tigers from the outside, finishing with 12 three-pointers, seven of which came in the first half. Five of those treys came from Gibbs, who finished with 15 points, while three came from Schimmel, who chipped in a team-high 19. Louisville turned the ball over just 10 times, and recorded assists on 21 of their 25 made field goals.
The Cards now move on to face Maryland on Tuesday with a shot at a return trip to the Final Four on the line. The game will also be a bit personal for Jeff Walz, who worked under Maryland coach Brenda Frese from 2002-07.
