Louisville play-by-play man Paul Rogers is one of seven members of the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame's class of 2014.
"When I found out, I asked them if they were constructing a wing for the non-athletic Hall of Fame," Rogers told The Courier-Journal.
Rogers will join other U of L voices Van Vance and Charles "Jock" Sutherland as members of the Hall of Fame.
The play-by-play man for Cardinal football since 1992 and Cardinal basketball since 1995, Rogers' voice has become synonymous with both teams for an entire generation of Louisville fans, including yours truly. The most incredible thing about Paul is that in this day and age where everyone and everything is critiqued and criticized in an absurdly extreme manner, I still don't think I've ever heard anyone say one bad thing about the work he does. That's pretty telling.
Congratulations, sir, and feel free to keep doing this forever.
