Montrezl Harrell • So. • F • :Louisville
Harrell averaged 17.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and shot 60 percent from the field (15 of 25) in a pair of league victories. He had 21 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and a block in a 58-57 win at No. 7/9 Cincinnati, snapping the Bearcats' 19-game homecourt winning streak and pulling Louisville even in the loss column with the Bearcats in conference play. It was Harrell's sixth double-double in league play. Harrell had 14 points and four rebounds, going 7-of-9 from the field in 26 minutes in an 80-54 win at USF.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Austin Nichols • Fr. • F • Memphis
Nichols averaged 13.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks and shot 70.6 percent from the field (12 of 17) in a 2-0 week for Memphis. He had 10 points and four rebounds in a 64-59 win at Rutgers and followed with 17 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks in an 82-79 overtime win against Temple for his first career double-double. The seven blocks against the Owls tie for the second-most by a freshman in school history.
