Head coach Bobby Petrino announced this afternoon that Louisville's leading receiver James Quick has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules. Quick will not play against Boston College tonight. The terse release simply states:
University of Louisville sophomore wide receiver James Quick has been suspended for a violation of teams rules, head coach Bobby Petrino announced.
Quick is still the team's leading receiver in both yards and receptions but has clearly taken a back seat to DeVante Parker since Parker's return from a foot injury that kept him out of the first eight games this season. This is Quick's second disciplinary issue in his time at Louisville. Over the summer, he was cited for marijuana possession and had to work over the summer to avoid suspension for the offense.
Petrino will likely not address Quick and his status going forward until after the game or even until Monday at his weekly press conference.
