Louisville safety Gerod Holliman has been named one of the five finalists for the Bronko Nagurski Award, which is given annually to the best defensive player in college football.

The other four finalists are Texas defensive tackle Malcom Brown, Alabama defensive back Landon Collins, Mississippi defensive back Senquez Golson, and Arizona linebacker Scooby Wright. The winner will be announced and the trophy will be handed out during the annual Bronko Nagurski awards banquet on Dec. 8 in Charlotte.

Holliman, a redshirt sophomore, enters this weekend's game at Notre Dame with 13 interceptions, one shy of the single-season FBS record set in 1968.
