University of Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich has narrowed his list of candidates to replace Charlie Strong down to three, and one of them is Bobby Petrino.
A source with the program confirmed to Card Chronicle Tuesday night that Jurich met with Petrino earlier in the day, and that the Western Kentucky head coach is a finalist to reclaim the job he held from 2003-06. The source did not name Jurich's other two finalists.
This comes on the heels of the news that the U of L athletic board and board of trustees have called for previously unscheduled meetings on Thursday morning. Jurich is expected to present his choice for Louisville's next head coach at those meetings, at which point the board members will vote on whether or not to approve it.
