Minnesota Timberwolves starting center Nikola Pekovic left Monday night's game against Chicago with an Achilles' tendon injury, meaning more playing time should be on the horizon for a certain former Cardinal who deserves a statue somewhere in this city.
The Wolves turned to NBA vet Ronny Turiaf Monday night for immediate assistance, and he responded with a season-high 19 points. Still, Dieng has appeared in 12 more games than Turiaf this season, meaning he figures to have his number called a bit more in the coming weeks if Pekovic's injury continues to affect his play.
For the season, The Gorgster is averaging 1.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in 13.8 minutes per game.
For those of you who wanted more of Gorgui Dieng, your dreams are coming true right now thanks to the Pekovic injury.
