SMU center Yanick Moreira will miss three to six weeks with after suffering a sprained MCL in his right knee during practice on Friday. Obviously, this means he won't be available to Larry Brown when the Mustangs host Louisville on Sunday.
The 6-11 Moreira has started all 14 games for SMU and is the team's third leading scorer, averaging 9.1 points to go with 5.6 rebounds. His absence will mean more playing time for Markus Kennedy (10.4 ppg., 5.8 rpg) and Cannen Cunningham (4.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg).
SMU's leading scorer Nic Moore (13.9 ppg) has also missed some practice time this week because of a lingering foot/ankle injury, but he is expected to be good-to-go by game time.
The Cards and Mustangs tip-off at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
