U of L's New National Championship Banner To Go Up Nov. 9

The 1980 and 1986 national championship banners inside the KFC Yum Center will meet a new friend in a month and-a-half. I imagine their topics of conversation will include the incredible view, whether or not they've tried the hot brown bites, and Russ Smith.

U of L SID Kenny Klein told The Courier-Journal that the new 2013 championship banner will be unveiled at Louisville's Nov. 9 home-opener against College of Charleston. That game is set to tip-off at 1 p.m.

Further plans about the championship celebration that will take place on that day will be revealed at a later time.

Also, a few updates to the original basketball schedule have been made: U of L's Dec. 21 game at Florida International will tip at 6 p.m. on Fox Sports 1, the Cards' Jan. 4 game at Rutgers will also begin at 6 p.m., and the Jan. 12 home game against SMU is set for a 1 p.m. start.
