Four-Star Defensive Tackle Poona Ford Commits To Louisville

Andy Lyons

On the first day of their 2013 season, the Louisville football team landed their highest-rated commitment from the class of 2014.

Poona Ford, a four-star defensive tackle from Hilton Head, S.C., became U of L's 24th commitment from the 2014 class when he picked the Cards over the likes of South Carolina, Ohio State and Tennessee on Tuesday evening. During a ceremony at his high school, Ford peeled back a jacket to reveal a Louisville t-shirt before donning a Cardinal hat to make it official.

Rated as the 16th-best defensive tackle in the country by both Rivals and 247 Sports, Ford is the most highly-touted member of Strong's 2014 class to date. As a junior in 2012, he recorded a whopping154 tackles, 44 tackles for loss and 10 sacks.

I am now officially counting down the days until I can yell "POONA" loudly in public and have it be deemed socially acceptable.

Here's your newest Cardinal commit:
