Three Cardinals - Russ Smith, Montrezl Harrell and Chris Jones - have received the honor of being selected to serve as counselors at the prestigious adidas Nations event this week in Garden Grove, Calif.
The trio arrived in Cali Thursday evening.
Smith and Harrell were expected honorees, but the experience should be especially beneficial for Jones, who has still yet to step on the court in a Division-I game. Gorgui Dieng and Peyton Siva both served as counselors last summer and spoke glowingly about the experience.
The camp features the country's top-ranked high school players - including U of L commit JaQuan Lyle - in addition to teams from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and Latin America, plus more than 30 college counselors. The culmination of the four-day event will be championship and third place games at Long Beach City College on Monday that will air live on ESPNU at 4:00pm PT.
